My favourite boots to wear with smart or casual clothing. I have one pair in black and one in brown. These boots are beautifully comfortable and for walking to and from work each morning/afternoon. I would love to see some 1940/1950's style shoes introduced as I am a dancer. Hotter do a range but, sadly they are not wide enough.

the boots are comfortable to wear with easy access., and they take my othrotics.
For winter wear I needed to spray them to be water tight. I did spray the with a trusted product I had uesed on my other shoes, but with these brown boots the streatch area all turned white and patchy, to my alarm. However I have been able to buy a brown cream polish which has covered the white effectively.

I couldt wear the shoes they hurt my feet and I had to send them back after two weeks as my podiatrist said they were damaging my feet. The sizing is completely wrong. I’ve worn these shoes Donna for 25 years but now this replacement style is awful

We have looked into the comments made in this review. This customer has worn DONNA in the past which has now been discontinued. SANTA is a similar style in terms of functionality, but made on a squarer toe last. What we do not understand is that a pair of SANTA was bought by this customer in March 2023 and kept. Nothing has changed with the manufacture of this style so we are unsure as to why they are now unsuitable.

However with your removable soles and plenty of depth I'm able to get my orthotics in, and when you look at people now, TV etc.... most seem to be wearing sensible shoes, which, by the way I always have done.

At first, these seemed a comfortable fit. They offer plenty of space, width and depth, for the toes. However, the ankle area is exceptionally narrow (possibly even more than regular shoes), and too narrow for the orthotic. There is also little ankle support. The soles of these boots are similar to Hotter's ankle boots, which for some are comfortable, but personally for me do not provide sufficient ankle support or cushioning for the soles of the feet, so are not good to wear. This is a shame, as it it is likely that this brand of shoes is not an option for me.

I have kept the bottom insole and have replaced the top insole with my own. The fit may be sligthly too roomy and walking feels a bit squashy and bouncy. The upside is that my toes have room to wiggle and spread. The downside is my feet have spread and all my other shoes feel too tight now. My ankles and feet feel slightly better but my knees hurt now. The square toe seems to be the one for me but they look clumpy. Possibly the best shoe I have had so far. I need to re-visit my choice of insole to see if that will help.

I am so pleased I have eventually found a pair of ankle boots to fit!
I ordered my first pair a couple of months ago and after trying on and returning 3 pairs I've settled on a pair with zip and laces. My problem is swelling ankles and wide feet, this is the only pair that's easy to get on and so comfortable, I'm wearing them every day.
Cant comment on how long they will last but I'm hoping to be able to wear them for a good number of winters to come.

The boot is deceptively deep and wide so I was able to get a smaller size. Several people have commented on how neat the boots look and on lovely colour. Because of the soft stretch front they are very comfortable for bunions. Also will stretch to fit warm thicker sock in if needed.

I haven't actually worn these boots out and about since getting them but I'm not worried as I already have a pair in Black and these boots really are so superbly comfortable. They stretch in the right places to accommodate my extremely mis-shapen foot due to a really serious bunion plus hammer toes plus baby toe going underneath next toe - so yes, not a pretty sight as very mis-shapen feet. I also wear orthotics and these fit in with no problems with rubbing or anything. The square toe makes a huge, huge difference. Out of the boots I have ordered and actually kept, I have noticed most of these tend to be square toe shape. So do take note as I can't be the only one with these foot problems. Really cannot recommend these boots highly enough. Please do them in white - I am positive they will sell like hot-cakes! Also, wellington boots, please look at wellington boots, preferably square toe shape!

My bunions seem to have worsened with age and it is wonderful to have a truly comfortable pair of boots. For a long time I have resisted trying footwear with stretch but these look like real leather.I believe these boots only have a stretchy forepart.They look lovely on and I forget I'm wearing them.Usually I can't keep new shoes on for long ....I am delighted..Having said that I do also have a pair of Biarritz boots(all leather) in size 6V and they are also very comfortable.I have lots of choice!!!

Oh I do wish I had seen these boots earlier as it would have saved me a lot of "wasted orders"! Well, they weren't really "wasted" as at least I managed to suss out what I liked and what I didn't but these boots are seriously good. They are lovely and wide which includes the actual toe box too, which I most definately need. They are so comfortable and I really enjoy wearing them. It would be great it they did them in a white - perhaps they might in the future. There is plenty of room for my orthotics plus my thick socks. My only comment would be that I did have to buy some shorter laces as the laces were miles too long - but that's not a huge issue but the shorter laces work better for me as I had to double lace the other ones and occasionally you have the problem of them coming undone and if you don't realise, there could be problems.
Highly recommend these boots. I purchased the Santa in black, size 6V and a size 4. Absolutely brilliant boots, love them.
