I suffer from Big toe osteoarthritis and unfortunately the sole of this boot was too thin for comfort and it was painful to walk in this boot. I was looking for a sturdy hiking boot but found these boots a poor substitute. The soles are too thin for hiking on hard terrain.
The wide fit is comfortable. Sadly the ankle & tongue are made of a ‘plastic’ not a pliable leather & are only comfortable if two pairs of thick walking socks are worn. The uppers are the only leather.
Overall the boots are ok for general walking but way too expensive. I would not recommend these boots.

This boot is not a hiking boot. YES: it gives you much better ankle and foot stability than a trainer and is good for moderately uneven ground, it has much better waterproofing than a trainer, it has a nice wide toe box and is very comfy.
NO: it's made of suede and so is much less robust than a stitched leather boot, I'm not sure how long the waterproofing will last in a suede boot, the sole is too thin for very rough or stony ground, the material the sole is made out of is slippery on wet rock.

Honestly, the most awful boots I have ever worn and I have owned a lot of walking boots. The soles are so thin, every pebble could be felt, there is zero grip and the laces are not structured right to lock the heel in place.
On top of this, the customer service is abysmal. On letting them know about the poor quality, they made no attempt to rectify.
Awful boots and awful company.

These boots would have scored 5* in all categories, as did my last pair, had the top fasteners not been changed. PLEASE go back to the former top fasteners. They were so much easier for someone with arthritic fingerss. It now takes me ages to get the boots fastened and unfastened, and to pull them tight enough to give the support my ankles need.
The first pair with these new fasteners broke within days. I cannot praise customer services enough for their response. The boots were replaced within a week. No hassle, no fuss. Excellent service.

These are cited as waterproof but they aren't. After a couple of months of wear they have let in water which is so disappointing. I much prefer the previous version which had 2 cleats for the laces which made it easier to put on, rather than eyelets all the way up and they were much more waterproof.DB should supply a bottle of waterproofing spray or at least instructions for this. Staff werent helpful and just said the boots need waterproofing to keep the boots dry, but i thought these new boots would have stayed waterproof for at least a year. Regardless of this major flaw they are very comfortable and as we walk at least 5 miles a day with our dog I would not be without them

The boots are very comfortable and I was able to walk around 50 miles in a week without any blisters - great outcome! However I needed to return the first pair due to a faulty fitting to hold the lace and the second pair which replaced it had a bulge in the leather on the right boot which initially made my ankle very uncomfortable. As there wasn't time to send this pair back before our walking holiday I used padding (7 mm thick) which resolved the issue. My conclusion is that there are some flaws in quality control in your factory, but your product is great!

I have three pairs. All excellent. Oldest pair (blue suede) now not as waterproof as they used to be but still the most comfy boots. I feel safe on rough ground. A good supportive boot. Dog walking in all weathers every day. Second pair (leather outer) as above but used in more severe conditions; super muddy, super wet. Third pair bought to replace first pair in time. I do prefer the hooks at the top of the lace up in the first two pairs but not a problem.
