These shoes are very comfortable and sturdy. I have walked miles in them over rough terrain with no problems whatsoever. I have bunions and find it very difficult to get good shoes to fit but these are perfect. I have tested them in the rain and they are waterproof. I do however have a little quibble with the shoelaces which kept coming undone but I replaced these easily with elastic laces which stay in place. I would definitely recommend these shoes.

Delighted with these shoes. Walking the dog through long, wet grass in the rain is no problem, and they do not require a long drying time when I get home, as they simply repel water. The laces are the same material as the shoes, and do not come undone as I walk. The fit is generous, and the seams are well placed so as not to cause corns etc.. altogether a great purchase.

Unfortunately had to return, although wide and deep at the front the heel was just too wide and deep for me. I have hallux rigidus and slightly dropped arches so need to accommodate an orthotic with lots of cushioning but my heel is standard width.
Sadly, the lacing metal loops and waxed lace meant I could lace securely enough to keep the heel in place. If they had been suitable I would have returned for a replacement because the right shoe lacing loops were not directly opposite each other (uneven spacing)

They are very solidly made and as others have said, a bit heavy, but I found them very comfortable.They have good arch support built in. I wouldn't wear them for hill walking as my feet slip out of them a bit at the back (my toes are broad but not my ankles) but for flat walks and gardening they should be fine.
