I'm 84 years old and have only ever bought four pairs of shoes that fitted me from day 1 without me having a lengthy and painful breaking in period. The last 2 were from from DB Wider Fit Shoes and all my future shoes will be theirs. (I usually wear new shoes for half hour spells - the DB shoes were worn for 14 hours with no problems.
I am currently having medical problems with my legs and they are dressed by District Nurses - some days lightly and some days heavily swathed in bandages. My Joseph shoes adjust themselves to my Nurses' whims. My legs weep and soil my shoes - a machine wash at 30 degrees sorts them out.
I have got my freedom back and can now leave the confines of my house in safety and comfort.

I bought these for my Dad for his birthday and I can honestly say that he has told me every time that I've visited since, how they are the most comfortable and supportive slippers he’s ever owned.
Dad had an operation on his heel many years ago, which has resulted in him needing wider fitting shoes and in recent years he has suffered with swollen feet. This is a very versatile house shoe. It has been possible to use orthotics which has been a great help. There are only two downsides in use: a) the straps are so flexible that they flop around too much. b) In addition the 'tongue' is so flexible that two hands are needed to put the shoe on because the tongue always folds back on itself if the foot is inserted without the assistance of a helping hand. A slightly stiffer tongue or a smoother lining to the tongue would remove this minor criticism. Overall verdict - well worth the money.

These shoes seem well-made. As I'm at the lower end of the width range the straps stick out a little bit, but I guess that's unavoidable. Because of my foot shape - wider at the toes - I've always had some problems getting a great fit and these are better than I've found previously. The wide, grippy (but not too grippy) sole is very good and they feel comfortable and safe. Maybe because of the double strap I find these an even better fit than the others I have from you - also th little notch at the back may help. Nice colour brown too.

These house shoes provide much more support (and I also have an orthotic which fits into them, having removed the inner sole) My foot pain is much improved. the main reason I bout them was that they are washable - an important consideration where my fathers dementia is concerned They had to fit well enough so he did not walk out of them but easy enough for him/carer to put on his feet. The Velcro fastening covers all bases.
The slippers are a good all round fit and good construction however they are really expensive. I bought 2 pairs in the sale to try to off-set their expense and have a spare pair for later in the year/when dad hides them again

This is the second pair of this particular shoe I have purchased. They are a perfect fit, comfortable and seem to last forever ! I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone who suffers from swollen feet as they are easily adjusted and very comfortable, the heel support is particularly useful and adds safety if walking is an issue. They are also soft and pliable which again adds to the comfort. Not sure if you are supposed to wash them but I have hand washed successfully.

With an arthritic hip and compression bandaging on my right leg wearing "ordinary " shoes is very difficult in getting them on and off and for tying shoelaces. These shoes have provided the obvious answer and I am pleased with them. An annoying feature is the tongue on the left shoe gradually slides down under the straps with the movement of walking and this could be solved with a Velcro pad on the top of the tongue for one of the straps to hold

These shoes are very comfortable and warm which is important for this very cold winter. If I have one criticism it is that they are surprisingly heavy. Wouldn't stop me buying another pair when these wear out which will not be for a considerable time.

1) the tongue 'wanders' it is far too small and leaves the straps in direct contact with the skin. Which is very uncomfortable if not painful when you have swollen feet.
2) there is no or insufficient padding on the upper and every seam and bobble can be felt and digs in.
3) the tongue (again) is not stiff enough and not padded enough.

The shoes do not give any real support, in spite of the claim on the web page. For a house shoe which is going to be warn much of the day (I am not an outdoor type) more ankle support is needed. The ankles are also too wide for my foot as my bunions need room but my ankles are of normal width.
When supplied the insole was of very poor quality and kept rucking up inside the shoe - I had to buy a leather insole from a local supplier.

I bought these on behalf of a patient who had very swollen ulcerated legs. He had bandages from his knees to his toes. He was shuffling along with his old slippers cut down the front and sides. As I was concerned he would trip, I offered to source him and buy for him, some slippers. Both he and I are delighted With them. I claimed the VAT OFF THE PRODUCT as he had medical issues, which allowed him to qualify for it. The slippers have fantastic soles and the slippers open very low down. Easy to get on and off. 10/10. I got fed up of other makes of slipper and house shoe with hidden waffle shaped internal under the heel supports that were very painfully inadequate. These Joseph house shoes overcome that issue most comfortably and have good enough soles for minor forays outdoors without changing them. When I do change them it needs a bit of time and care to avoid the tongue getting trapped in the wrong place and the velcro set so as to hold without being too tight for comfort, but you soon get used to getting it right. Also when first putting them over the toes they do not hang straight to enable the heel to drop in by gentle placement on the floor, they do have to be put on, which can mean a balancing act. The general build quality is excellent.

This item was much apprecaited by my son as he has Motor Neurone Disease and needed slipper shoes that were not only light weight but very easy to put on and very wide fitting, so the Joseph slipper shoes are perfect.

Bought these for my husband whose feet and ankles were so swollen after intravenous chemotherapy and antibiotics that he could not wear either shoes or normal slippers. They are very comfortable and supportive and open wide to be put on easily. They are substantial enough for light outdoor wear (though I don't know how heavy rain would affect the suede-type finish) After several weeks his feet and ankles are now just about back to normal, but the Velcro adjustment on the house shoes means they still fit snugly and he is still wearing them. Definitely a good buy. PS I also bought some marvellous oedema socks from www.able2wear.co.uk - they stretch to fit swollen insteps and ankles without binding anywhere, but they still stay up better than most standard socks.
